Teddy Pendergrass - You Can't Hide From Yourself & The More I Get, The More I Want

This may actually be the first Disco record I ever purchased, if not, it is definitely one of the first, and is responsible for me getting deeper into the music. I remember hearing Timmy play this at The Shelter back in 93, it raised the hairs on the back of my neck while I watched the room explode. I still get goose bumps from this one. When I turned the record over, and heard this masterpiece on the flip of the LP, words can't even describe the feeling.

RIP Teddy Pendergrass - One of the greatest that ever did it

Le Stim - A Tribute To Muhammad Ali (We Crown The King)

What a night the last Secret Rendezvous was this past Wednesday! Fantastic tunes were played on vinyl all night by the likes of special guest DJs Underground Paris, and C'mish, dancers were dancing, and good times were had. This tune was one of my favorite moments of the night. Stay tuned for more Secret Rendezvous jams...

Al Kent - Come Back Home EP EDIT

Scorcher of a tune off of Al Kent's newest "Secret Sounds" release on BBE Records. I admit a little biased as I wrote the liner notes for this release, but trust me, it is rare that people produce dance music of this caliber in this day and age. Support quality dance music by copping this release ASAP, and play it out the first chance you get!

Million Dollar Orchestra "Canal Street Bus Stop"

If you haven't picked up this LP yet, it is never too late. Al Kent really did it right with this one. "Canal Street Bus Stop" has a beautiful break at around 4 and a half minutes that just can not be slept on.

Make sure to check out his latest EP "Secret Sounds" on BBE Records.

Darwin's Theory LP on Lotus Land Records & Tapes

1ST EVER RELEASE from material that was recorded in 1978, Lotus Land Records brings you the amazing music of Darwin's Theory, the music of Darwin Jones as recorded at Sly Stone's (Sly & the Family Stone) personal home studio with an unknown band from Tulsa Oklahoma. While Darwin was doing session work at Sly's studio he made a strong connection with the engineer and was granted permission to record his strongest songs.

Here we have a 8 song LP featuring the heavier funk, and the more danceable-dj-able tunes from the sessions. On the 16 song CD we are featuring everything from the full session at Sly's studio, including two alternate takes and some demos that the band actually wrote in the studio (allegedly one of the tunes was started by the band finish a melody that Sly was whistling as he left the studio).

ALL of the material was unreleased prior to Lotus Land's release save "Accept the Truth" which was released on a 200 press demo 45 on Darwin's Theory Records from 1978.

The material was mastered from 1/2" tape, preserved by Darwin since the initial recordings. All material was transferred by Len at History of Recorded Sound (Culver City, CA) and mastered by Marcin Nowak in Los Angeles.

What a way to start the new year, thanks Lotus Land!
