Wild Fire "Try Making Love"

Here is an old secret weapon I used to play a lot. The band and their releases had starting to get some attention over the years with other collectors. Sleazy vibes.

George and Glen Miller "Easin"

This used to be an old secret weapon of mine, but it looks like someone caught a copy and put a clip on the internets ;) Regardless this thing is still a beast. The instrumental on the flip side is also smoking.

Candido Acetate - Unreleased Versions of Thousand Finger Man and Dancin' and Prancin'

If you don't know, now you know. Limited 300 press coming very soon. Remastered from an extremely rare and pristine acetate, this raw version will make you fall in love with this classic tune all over again. This sounds more like a lo-fi basement indie production than the original Salsoul classic release, giving it a new edge that will make you feel like it's your very first time time time...

Donnell Pitman "Love Explosion"

Donnell singing over the classic GQ backing track! Shouts to my man Red Greg for giving me his sick edit of this on a vinyl dub plate! An Ebonite & Secret Rendezvous exclusive 10" mix mix mix, only two copies in exitance!

Greg Henderson - Never Too Late (to find a Love)

Another killer boogie 12" from Greg Henderson of Rain Records and Masterforce infamy. If you aren't familiar with his name, he is behind a nice group of Disco and Boogie tunes you may already be a fan of. This is a later production with a heavy hitting drum machine and tough synth sounds. The one key change will hook you.

Floating Points, Red Greg and Underground Paris live at Plastic People UK!!!

Three of my favorite guys I've DJ'd with over the last few years got together over the weekend at Plastic People in the UK to play some heavy vinyl goodness from Jazz to Soul, US to Brazil, Disco and Boogie audio richness. The sound system at Plastic People is world class, and apparently they were using some high end audiophile turntables that do not have pitch control, because it's all about the focus on the sound quality. Like a sock hop, or The Loft, there isn't really mixing, but programming and presenting the beautiful tunes in all their black wax glory. The tunes are top notch of course, and the extra bonus is hearing the crowd cheer in the background. Just close your eyes and you can almost feel like you are there. This is what it's all about, Quality Music for a quality nightlife experience. Enrich your soul, get lost in the soundscape and dance your blues away.

Gladys Knight - It's A Better Than Good Time (Walter Gibbons unreleased Acetate Edit)

In my opinion this is the shiniest jewel in the glorious crown that Walter wears while DJ'ing that big club in the sky. I won't back away from hyperbole as this is truly one of the greatest Disco mixes of all time. Spliced with tape, this astonishing mix is equally lush with orchestration and Gladys' vocals, as much as it is explosive with its drum breaks and breakdowns. This mix serves as a testament to the visionary talents of Walter Gibbons and the endless possibilities within this craft of Disco mixing and editing. If necessity is the mother of invention, then convenience is the father of mediocrity. I hope this spliced work of art serves as inspiration for all the hacks out there with a laptop looping intro "edits" of Disco records. This is how you stretch a tune out the right way. If you don't know by now, you better snatch one of these up and learn. I'm surprised there are still a couple of copies available on the net. This is a super limited vinyl pressing remastered from the ultra rare acetate where you'll get the full 12 minutes of 12" Disco glory you've always deserved from the master Walter Gibbons. Sleep and weep...

P.S. The grapevine tells me to expect more from this label with another raw unreleased version of another NYC heavy Disco classic coming soon. Sleep and weep, cause once people catch on it's a wrap.

Jackpot! w/ Still Life and $mall ¢hange, special guest Love on the Run this Friday

Hyped straight from the master of funky promos, the homey $mall ¢hange:::

---------> FRIDAY, Nov 8th

Love on the Run tried to join us about a year ago and got snowed out. Hopefully the weather gods will be kind to us this time around (global warming is good for somethin'!) and we'll be graced by this disco master and his stax of extremely stupid sevens. Also there's a bangin' brisket sandwich on the menu for a limited time. Its kinda like the McRib except its actually meat and not meat-glue. Me and Still Life play before and afters as per usual. Quality music for a bunch of williamsburg hipsters who need to wipe their nose and drink more shit beer...
